Meta and Metaverse – The rise of new opportunities in virtual reality?
The “Meta” announcement by Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook CEO took the internet by storm. Mark made it pretty clear that virtual reality, the metaverse, is the real new deal and will rise career opportunities to billions across the globe.
We are already familiar with virtual reality and how leading giants like Apple and Microsoft are keen in VR advancement. But Facebook took a step forward to stand out, not only in presenting the idea of metaverse but changing the parent's name to Meta.
Now, what makes an interesting point is how the other global leaders will respond to the challenge by Facebook.
The 90-minute presentation by Facebook CEO can mean two things. Either we will notice a connection of different VR Apps or, well this is going to be really interesting, an AR and VR world with an immersive environment on the lines of games like Sims, GTA, Cyberpunk 2077. We still have to wait to know what is going to happen.
The next two years are going to be very crucial with global companies taking a leap towards VR and AR. There are still a lot of questions to be answered but, the call has been made. Statistics from job analysts like Emsi Burning Glass suggest a 4.55% growth in VR-related jobs over the next two years. AR-related jobs might spike up to 64.4% in two years.
If you want to become a VR/AR Technologist, Python, Java and C++ programming are two major languages you should master. Now that it is not just about gaming but connecting the marketplace around through different applications, coding is also a point worthy to be listed.
